Mimic Gaming / Services

Facial animation for games

Give dialogue, expression and character intent a clear production path from reference to approved animation.

01 / The service

Make the character’s intent readable.

Mimic Gaming supports facial animation for game characters and cinematic sequences. The brief starts with the character, the performance and what the camera needs to show. Dialogue timing, eye direction, expression and continuity are reviewed together so the face supports the scene.

Your project may start with recorded facial performance, reference footage or a defined animation brief. We agree which stages are included: preparation, capture-related processing, animation cleanup, retargeting and final refinement. Rig creation, recording and engine integration should be confirmed separately rather than assumed to be part of every animation package.

Mimic Productions’ documented Borderlands contribution is facial animation for cinematics. Its Batman: Arkham Knight credit covers facial animation for hero characters. These examples identify the specific contribution; they do not imply ownership of the complete games or every animation discipline.

01

Check the inputs

Review character rigs, approved audio, references, shots and delivery requirements. Resolve missing inputs before scaling production.

02

Validate a sample

Review one representative performance on the intended rig and camera. Agree the expression, lip contact and technical checks.

03

Review and hand off

Apply consolidated feedback, identify approved takes and versions, and deliver the agreed files with integration responsibilities recorded.

Your production

A clear scope from the start.

For studios with a character, dialogue scene or cinematic performance that needs facial animation. Share the intended visual style and camera distance.

Technical handoff

Agree the rig version, audio version, frame rate, shot identifiers and editable or baked delivery formats. Test the intended import path in the target engine. Capture data, rig changes and final engine integration are separate responsibilities unless explicitly included.

Agree the acceptance checks

  • Check lip contact, teeth intersections, blinks and eye direction in the intended shot.
  • Match timing to the approved audio and preserve the intended performance.
  • Confirm source files, dependencies and import checks with the receiving team.
